“Vidya Samanvaya”: Christ University and AICPA-CIMA (UK) Launch 2025–26 Financial Literacy Program for School Students

 

On July 22, 2025, Christ University, in collaboration with AICPA-CIMA (UK), inaugurated the 2025–26 edition of its flagship Financial Literacy Program (FLP) under the theme “Vidya Samanvaya” — a call for synergy between education and empowerment. The program was launched for three partnering institutions: Delhi Public School (South), Delhi Public School (Electronic City), and School of India, at a special ceremony held on campus.

The Chief Guest for the event, Smt. Vidya S, Assistant General Manager, Financial Inclusion and Development Department (FIDD), Reserve Bank of India, emphasized the need for early financial education and applauded the program’s student-led peer learning model. Joining her as Guests of Honour were Smt. Kashis Raj, Assistant Manager, Reserve Bank of India , and Mr. Vinesh Singh, Council Member of AICPA-CIMA (UK), both of whom reinforced the significance of institutional partnerships in driving long-term impact.

 

School leaders including Mrs. Anitha Bijesh (Principal, DPS South), Mrs. Anupama Ramachandra (Principal, DPS Electronic City), and Mrs. Ramitha Ramachandran (Principal, School of India) were present alongside invitees from Iqra International School, Sherwood High, Sri Gurukula International School, and Gurukul High School, marking a collective step towards building financially aware future citizens.

 

Dr. Biju Toms, Director, School of Commerce, Finance & Accountancy, described the initiative as “a meaningful alliance uniting regulators, schools, and universities with a shared vision of youth empowerment through financial knowledge.”

 

The event also saw the induction of student leaders into the Financial Literacy Club and the introduction of Dhan-Vriti, an upcoming interschool quiz competition. The day concluded with a Round Table Discussion chaired by Dr. Fr. Viju P D, Pro Vice Chancellor, Christ University, where strategic pathways for expanding the program to rural and underserved regions were discussed.
